Kindret

Kindret

Another time, another place,
A different land, a different space,
Yet, a special love meant to be shared,
A touching moment of how we cared.
More then a friendship deep in my heart.
Bound kindret spirits, we’ll never part.

October 1997

Written for Maarten, a Dutch kindret.  Proving land and language are no barriers.
He always wrote Kindred with a “t” so I kept that in this poem.
He was instrumental
in helping me understand (via the internet)
that marriage shouldn’t hurt and
I deserved a happy and healthy love.
He was so right.

NB: 2 years later I had moved to the Netherlands and Maarten and I got married.  How cool is that!
And nope he never hits me or screams at me or throws and breaks my things.  Never!
